Parish Mission Statement

Jesus Christ said to St. Philip the Apostle,

"Come follow Me.

As members of the parish community of St. Philip's, we seek to live as disciples of the Lord by living our faith through service to others.

Based on a strong faith, a guided hope and a well rooted love, we encourage all to walk that journey with Christ with humility and courage.

Guys and Dolls is an organization for those fifty years of age or older, who enjoy socializing with their peers on a monthly basis. The club provides a chance to meet with friends and acquaintances or to make new friends and acquaintances on the first Monday of each month from September through June at 1:00 p.m. in Saint Philip’s gym. The organization is not limited to St. Philip’s parishioners.

Meetings consist of varied types of entertainment for thirty to forty-five minutes, followed by a brief business meeting and concluding with a delicious refreshment. Members pay $5.00 per year in dues and $1.00 per meeting to cover the costs of entertainment and refreshments. Members may contribute $1.00 toward a 50/50 drawing which is disbursed in $5.00 increments.

Guys and Dolls has a very active travel committee which plans and provides trips, both day and longer (a favorite is one day to local casinos). Travel is optional for members but available for those who are interested.

Community Service

We collect staple food items to be distributed to a food bank during the November meeting.

December and June meetings are catered dinners which members pay for if they choose to attend. Our membership is over 300 people and average around 175 people at the monthly meetings. We welcome any and all who wish to participate!
