Parish Mission Statement
Jesus Christ said to St. Philip the Apostle,
"Come follow Me."
As members of the parish community of St. Philip's, we seek to live as disciples of the Lord by living our faith through service to others.
Based on a strong faith, a guided hope and a well rooted love, we encourage all to walk that journey with Christ with humility and courage.
Since 1986 the Prison Christian Growth Group (PCGG), a Catholic ministry, has been sharing Christ with the incarcerated. Even though we are sponsored by the Diocese of Harrisburg, various groups visit prisons throughout Pennsylvania. Lancaster’s team members come from St. Philip’s, St. Joseph’s, and Sacred Heart parishes. This group visits Lancaster County Prison twice monthly and Camp Hill every week. You can choose where you want to visit. The meetings are held as St. Philip’s Parish Activity Center, on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM and last an hour and a half. We read Bible verses which follow a theme, and share how we can improve our lives by living these verses. Prison ministry can add an unbelievable dimension to your life, enriching you by sharing the love of Jesus with those who need Him!
Matthew 5:35-40 “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.”
