Ushers are the gentlemen who help the parishioners to gather together for the celebration of the Mass. They are those special people who look to see how they can bring comfort and peace to those attending with the attention to our physical and emotional needs. They make sure the windows and doors are open or closed, the air or heat is on or off, those physically challenged are helped in and out of their seats, and they help set the tone for our worship with their welcoming smile or greeting. As they take up the collection at Mass, they keep the order and efficiently manage the offering. They may also coordinate the people bringing up the gifts and help in the orderly lining up of the people for receiving Holy Communion. They are there in a servants form doing a servants job, but they are so very important for the smooth flowing order that comes with their patient assistance and gentle guidance.
If you are interested in becoming an usher or would like to help organize the ushers, please contact the Parish office at 717-872-2166.
