The St. Philip’s Women’s Auxiliary is the only all-women organization in our parish. Our purpose is to cultivate the spiritual and social growth of our members, the parish, and our community at large. We welcome all parish women whether you are young or young at heart, single or married, working or retired. We meet once a month from September to May for fellowship, fun and the betterment of our community.
Our members come together for fellowship and fundraising through numerous activities.
We have two major fundraising activities:
- Christmas Craft Show with over 70 vendors
- Bingo in the spring; We share this activity with the Knights of Columbus.
The funds raised at these events allow us to support the following Church and community activities:
Community Projects:
- A baby shower for “A Women’s Concern”
- A Warming Bin to collect new clothes and warming items to be donated to the Loft Community Partnership
- Christmas gifts and poinsettias for residents at St. Anne’s Retirement Community
- Provide and serve a community meal for St. Mary’s Church
Church activities we support:
- The Thanksgiving Day Free Community Meal
- The Rosary Guild
- The Poor and Needy Fund
- Provide gifts for First Communion and Confirmation recipients
- Provide a College Scholarship to a graduating senior in our parish
Some recent church projects that we have financed:
- Significant upgrade to the sound system in the Church
- Renovation to the Candle Altar at the Church entrance
Social Activities:
- Monthly meetings often include a speaker along with refreshments and social time
- Post Christmas potluck
- Spring picnic
- Cookie baking and craft days for the Christmas Craft Show
Outreach Committee:
- Visiting homebound parishioners – giving Communion upon request
- Contribute to the Religious Education Program
